Keerthi Sravan Ravi Wins Award for Abstract, International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine 2020

BME PhD student Keerthi Sravan Ravi is one of three winners of the 2020 International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine Interventional MRI Trainee Abstract contest for Intelligent Protocolling for Autonomous MRI. From the abstract: MR Value can be interpreted as the ratio of image contrast to acquisition time. This can be maximised via intelligent protocolling that chooses an optimal combination of pulse sequence parameters. In this work, a Look Up Table (LUT) is consulted to obtain parameters that satisfy an acquisition time constraint. The LUT is populated with data collected from a vendor’s simulator, and a search algorithm is designed to prioritise preserving image contrast and achieving high through-plane resolution. Data is collected across four experiments from a healthy volunteer. LUT-derived and measured relative SNR values are compared and analysed.
